We have 3 models of swisskings roof tent in several copies and a James Baroud.
-The swisskings open and close in the wallet in less than 10 min, their weights vary from 57kg to 87kg depending on the model.
The quality of the fabric is the same on the 3 models offered, they are equipped with a 320 gsm poly cotton ripstop canvas fabric which allows better waterproofing and better insulation than basic fabrics.
The hinges that allow smooth and sturdy unfolding and folding are made of 24mm galvanized steel, not to be confused with roof tents with 18mm hinges which are much less solid.
The dimensions obviously depend on the size of your roof tent model:
- The swisskings 140: 140cm x 120cm x 30cm folded on your vehicle and 140cm x 240cm x 130cm (at the highest) once the bed is unfolded.
- The swisskings 160: 160cm x 120cm x 30cm folded on your vehicle and 160cm x 240cm x 130cm (at the highest) once the bed is unfolded.
- The swisskings 190: 190cm x 120cm x 30cm folded on your vehicle and 190cm x 240cm x 130cm (at the highest) once the bed is unfolded.
The telescopic ladder supplied with each roof tent is a maximum of 2m30cm.
The PVC cover is a PVC tarpaulin: 600 g/m2
The rods provided allow you to set up the 4 windows on each side of the roof tent, they are all equipped with mosquito nets and ventilation with mosquito net.
The mattress is 7 cm thick and has the same dimension as the surface of the unfolded roof tent.
-The James Baroud roof tent is equipped with a rigid shell with a crank opening and closing that takes no more than 5min.
The size of the mattress inside is 6cm and its surface is 130cm x 185cm.
The 2 openings on the sides are not equipped with mosquito nets.

Rooftop tents all have a weight limit allowed inside the roof tent.
-For the swisskings 140: 250 kg
-For the swisskings 160: 250 kg
-For the swisskings 190: 300 kg
-For the James Baroud: 200 kg
The other factor to take into account is the weight that your roof bars and your vehicle can support.
I remind you that you can refer to the question (1:2 and 1:3) which specify the difference between rolling and stationary weight.
The fact that your car is sold in France, it must absolutely be able to support its own weight in the event of a total overturning of the vehicle.
